Hot Zombie Love - disturbing evidence from the destroyed city

Hello all,
In the grim, dark, apocalyptic future of Zombicide there is only love?!?
A shocked survivor sent these pictures in to the local survivor head quarters and they may reveal a disturbing development in the zombie-strain:

Zombicide, Zombie, love, hot, fatty, fun

It appears to depict a somewhat obese blond zombie walking through the destroyed streets with her (its?) new boyfriend.

Zombicide, Zombie, love, hot, fatty, fun

A most disturbing development indeed!

Berserker Walkers - Zombie Prison Guards

Hello all,

Still busy finishing papers for various conferences and the articles they spawn (got an interesting one on Pistis Sophia coming up, if anyone is interested :-)). So little - or rather, no painting happening, unfortunately.
I do still have a few miniatures painted that I havn't shown yet, so here are a few of the Berserker type of zombie walkers from Zombicide (of course).

Zombie, Walker, Zombicide, Berserker, painted

To be consistent, they have the same blue colour to mark them as berserkers. I think it works better on the inmates (see the two fatties here, for example) than it does on these guards.

Zombie, Walker, Zombicide, Berserker, painted

I felt obligated to paint them as American prison guards (according to my Google searches). Unfirtunately this does make them a bit muted and boring, but hey! their job is to be gunned down by our brave survivors so who cares, right? To be honest I felt a bit bored painting them and the finished models do, I think, show this to some extent.

Zombie, Walker, Zombicide, Berserker, painted

They are ok sculpts - not the most outstanding of the Prison Outbreak zombies but they serve their purpose. I'll return to them sometime in the future and spice up their bases a bit.

Kasper

Toxic women - Toxic Walker Zombies 2

Hello all,
Two more zombies of the toxic variety - this time painted bright sparkly colours to give the board some colour :-).
Zombicide, Toxic, Walker, Painted

Not my favourite sculpt, but they do look like they are doing the classic 'zombie'-shuffle...

Toxic Bikini Babes - Toxic Walker Zombies 1

Hello all,
These were the first of the toxic zombies I painted so the skin tones are a bit diverse. I tried a sickly green (the babe on the far right) but in the end I decided that their postulent green spikes/buboles would be enough to seperate them from the normal zombies (should normal be in crows feet? I guess so :-)).

Zombicide, Toxic, Walker, bikini, Babe, zombie, painted,

I also tested the new slimy goo-paint from Games Wokshop (can be seen on the chick on the left). Not convinced by it. Looks less like slime than a fuzzy water effect. May use it in the future on bases, but for these rank and file zombies it hardly seems worth the hassle.

Zombicide, Toxic, Walker, bikini, Babe, zombie, painted,

These zombies are nice models - suitably twisted and shanbling. I guess the zombicide setting is close to California with the large proportion of bikini clad women?

Zombicide, Toxic, Walker, bikini, Babe, zombie, painted,

More (and better painted toxic zombies) coming soon(ish).

All the best,
Kasper

Horrible Zombie-Slaying Monster Detected

Hello all,
Good News! It appears the forces of good - the ever troubled survivors of Zombicide - have been sent supernatural help!
During a recent zombie incursion a great beast ascended from above and began destroying zombies left and right! Local survivors only managed to get the following pictures of the beast, but even from these hastily snapped pictures it is clear that the beast is a formidable opponent:

The beast soon killed the zombies (apparently, by knocking them downinto the abyss) and all survivors will in the future pray that it re-appears in their part of town!

Seriously, I would kill that cat for scratching my zombies if it wasn't so damn cute. Clever creatures these cats...

Kasper

100.000 visitors = An Apocalyptic Final Stand (eye-candy galore)!

Hello all,
It seems the number of visitors to this zombierific blog crept above the magic number 100.000 during the weekend. I really want to thank each and everyone, but as that would take quite a while, I've decided this would be an appropriate moment to lineup all the zombies and survivors from the Zombicide game I've painted so far. Think of it as a photo-apocalyptic-thank-you from me to you :-).

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
The survivors prepare for a last, desperate last stand

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
Led by Nick and the old gang, each survivor has stocked up on weapons and prepares to unleash hell

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
Led by the zombie dogz and runners the zombies rapidly approach the survivors

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
Even the Zombie Dogz can be heard gorwling *BRAINZZ*

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
More than a dozen runners is a bad, bad sight

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
A sizeable group of fatties lumber towards the survivors, intent on feating tonight

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
On the survivors' right is a small contingent of the new and terrifying Toxic Zombies

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
The kids (from Hasslefree) are kept in reserve, although they are fully able to kick some Zombie-a**

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
The slightly weird, tutu-wearing uncle Ed prepares to stop the zombies from getting to the children and women

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
The unstoppable horde

Zombicide, Zombies, all, painted, survivors, apocalyptic,
Runners galore
How will it all end? No idea, but thanks for stopping by, commenting and following this blog. I really apprecaite it and doubt I would have gotten through half the zombies without having this blog to showcase and keep my spirits up.

All the best,
Kasper

Zombicide: The Three Stooges - Toxic Walkers (C)

Hello all,
So among the many new miniatures from the last Kickstarter concerning Zombicide were the Toxic Zombies. Zombies who explode into a toxic cloud when killed, and if your survivor kills them in close combat then he receives a wound from their toxic blood.
We have only used them once and to be honest, they felt like a needless complication of an otherwise smooth game. We'll give them a try sometime in the future but for now I'm just enjoying having some new sculpts to paint.

Zombicide, Zombie, Toxic, Walker, Painted, City

The three toxic zombies above - nicknamed "Moe, Larry, and Curly" from the three stooges, although they have all lost their hair - are great sculpts. I particular love the middle guy who looks like he still has a lot of attitude.

Zombicide, Zombie, Toxic, Walker, Painted, City

Great having new zombie sculpts to paint. I think their green pustules are enough to separate them on the field from the other, normal zombies.

Hope you like them - otherwise they'll - slowly - shamble towards your house...

Kasper

Zombicide: Ed and Ted, Two Toxic Walkers (B)

Hello all,
So among the many new miniatures from the last Kickstarter concerning Zombicide were the Toxic Zombies.

Zombiecide, zombie, painted, walker, toxic, city,

The two chaps below, Ed and Ted, are toxic walkers and great sculpts - the clothes and faces are top dollar and the shambling brain-reaching-stance perfect. They suffer the same non-descript hands that all the zombicide sculpts do, but that is a minor nuisance.

Zombiecide, zombie, painted, walker, toxic, city,

New background - more light in this one than the last and I think the burning city suits the zombies well (the background is actually part of a press photo coverage of the events in Kiev, used without permission).

Zombicide: Last of the walkers painted!

Hello all,
Well wouldn't you know it - the last walkers have been (very) slowly painted, and with them the entire set of zombies and survivors from Zombicide is done. I deserve a medal :-).
Anyways, before we turn to the pictures, there is a blog I would like to direct your attention to - most of you probably know the Laughing Ferret for his amazing paintjobs and brilliant conversions, but he also regularly posts interesting "rants" and personal accounts. One such was concerning how we,a s people, are not always smiling, hell msot of us have deep personal sinkholes we sink into once in a while. Yet we do not discuss this as much as we should, and if you are are one of those people who experience this stuff (which I also do) I would recommend reading this post, and acknowledge that you are not alone.

Anyways, on to the pictures!
Here they are, a complete set:

Zombicide, Zombie, Painted, Walkers

And a few shots of the last to enter the shambling painted horde:

Zombicide!: Walkers converted into Crawlers - Easy Entrails...

Hello all,
I've had some fun with two of the last walker zombies from the first season of Zombicide.
For some reason there were none of the archetypical 'crawler' type zombies. To remedy this, I chopped the legs of two walkers and, hey presto, crawlers!

Zombicide, zombies, crawlers, walkers, painted, converted, entrails, clay-do

But, what I wanted to share was an easy way to produce great looking entrails that I discovered in the process. Now, you could use green stuff or something similar, but that is expensive and takes time.
Me, I've got kids playing with clay-do all the time and this always leaves tons of the stuff on the floor afterwards. If you shape this into the shape you need, and apply some super glue to its surface, it will dry as rock hard, or harder, than green stuff.

Here is the stuff before paint and blood:

Zombicide, zombies, crawlers, walkers, painted, converted, entrails, clay-do

Zombicide, zombies, crawlers, walkers, painted, converted, entrails, clay-do
And once the glue has dried, by an application of paint and blood it will look very much like entrails. Very easy, cheap, and fun :-).

Zombicide!: Mantic Zombie Mutations V (Walker)

Hello all,
So, more than a hundred zombies to paint will drive anyone insane. As the best remedy is to add some diversion to the horde, I searched my bits box and found an old sprue that I had gotten for free with some purchase. On the sprue were two Zombies, and various bits and bobs to put on them - all made by Mantic Games (link). Great detail, although their zombies are closer to what I would term Ghouls.
I then set about snipping and snapping, and managed to diversify eight of Guillotine Games' zombies - without them becoming too unrecognisable. The bodies are almost exactly the same size, so the conversions were easy and great fun.
As with all my minis, the intention is to get them ready as quickly as possible and then, at some time, to return and add a few details (especially to the bases - they are much too clean atm).

This creeper has the body of walker and the legs from a Mantic Zombie. Looks very nasty :-)

This lovely couple, a runner and a walker, have each had a quick handswap - getting a weapon each.

The Runner carries a wicked cleaver, while the Naughty Nurse has a scalpel I wouldn't like to be at the receiving end of. Both courtesy of the Mantic zombie sprue.

Zombicide!: Mantic Zombie Mutations III (Walkers)

Hello all,
Painting Zombies. No problem. But painting more than a hundred zombies to paint will drive anyone insane. And that is just the Abomination pack - there is an additional hundred zombies coming during this year. As the best remedy is to add some diversion to the horde, I searched my bits box and found an old sprue that I had gotten for free with some purchase. On the sprue were two Zombies, and various bits and bobs to put on them - all made by Mantic Games (link). Great detail, alhthough their zombies are closer to what I would term Ghouls.
I then set about snipping and snapping, and managed to diversify eight of Guillotine Games' zombies - without them becoming too unrecognizable. The bodies are almost exactly the same size, so the conversions were easy and great fun.
As with all my minis, the intention is to get them ready as quickly as possible and then, at some time, to return and add a few details (especially to the bases - they are much too clean atm).

The next batch was perhaps the most fun conversions.
The two Zombies on the left are standard Walkers, but have each received a Zombie head from the Mantic sprue:
Zombicide Zombie Mantic Painted Convertted Conversion Walker
These head s are much more detailed (and larger) and gives the zombies a very different expression. Good fun - although I wish I had painted the left guy as a composer - there seems to be somthing Bethoovian about his hairstyle.
The Zombie on the right is a mixture of three different models - Walker legs, Mantic body, and a Runner head. Also something completely new - I really love the way he is grasping after his next vitim in a classic Zombie style. Good face as well.

Different angels of the fiendish creations :-).
