Hello all,<br />
So here is another of the survivors I painted some time ago and simply forgot to post pictures of.<br />
<br />
This is the lovely Thaissa, described as the Entrepreneur:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
She was a Kickstarter Exclusive and one I was looking forward to painting. Great sculpt and quite different from the other females in the set.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I've tried to paint her as close to the character artwork released by Guillotine Games, but the dress was difficult to paint in the right nuance:<br />

Hello all,<br />
<br />
Life has been weird which has kept me from blogging (and painting, and
gaming) recently. In order to keep this blog from withering and dying, I
figured I would post some pictures of a couple of Toxic Fatties I painted before the shit-storm hit:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Very nice figures - a pleasure to paint.<br />
Quite disturbing miniatures, actually.<br />
I tried getting the bottle to look like a coke bottle and do some scribbling on the name tag - works from a distance :-).<br />

Hello all,<br />
In the grim, dark, apocalyptic future of Zombicide there is only love?!?<br />
A shocked survivor sent these pictures in to the local survivor head quarters and they may reveal a disturbing development in the zombie-strain:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
It appears to depict a somewhat obese blond zombie walking through the destroyed streets with her (its?) new boyfriend.<br />

Zombie Link is Extraordinaire!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Hello all,<br />
There are few things my two sons (9&6) wants more than to play Zombicide. And who am I to refuse them when there is time? Yesterday there was time and we had a blast! We didn't use any missions as I wanted to test the flexibility of the game - I choose six boards more or less randomly, placed some doors and three objects to be claimed. These objects were three of the small children I've painted from Hasselfree - more fun than the "x-marks-the-spot"-counters.<br />
As only two players would participate (the youngest prefers to be the children to be rescued) we began with a single spawn zone and decided a few more would be added once the children were freed (children make a lot of noise, you know :-)).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-d54U0H2DqCl980QccLJEZ-wo9-mccIoVt4IEfR70YSVSHZqOEa7gWYjB7rLLpA2CKojD6qFUwU37x9POzNWFoUX1cbsIAilX4zWN36PjZmddZli-dBT1oaJR8EXkL9UQ-nrB88KWQGs/s1600/IMG_2584.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, game, play, report, AAr, Achille, Dave, zombies, " border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-d54U0H2DqCl980QccLJEZ-wo9-mccIoVt4IEfR70YSVSHZqOEa7gWYjB7rLLpA2CKojD6qFUwU37x9POzNWFoUX1cbsIAilX4zWN36PjZmddZli-dBT1oaJR8EXkL9UQ-nrB88KWQGs/s1600/IMG_2584.JPG" height="300" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The youngest shuffled the characters and we received Dave the Geek (an ok character, but nothing special) and my son got to play the serial murderer, Achille the Serial Killer (hmmm, not sure about that, but he was thrilled). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2cn6MjhOG1onRgyrILaajDR7hH_KCh0Phn_WpVkvJVOoU1wKfY1i4GpAeumq1A3JA1rhocLGCWAnyKnhguzVCHiou4GOUwN3csIZpMZ9joD1FcXHRoDcslvwuLIxa4C_FFRsTTkN9DEc/s1600/IMG_2586.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2cn6MjhOG1onRgyrILaajDR7hH_KCh0Phn_WpVkvJVOoU1wKfY1i4GpAeumq1A3JA1rhocLGCWAnyKnhguzVCHiou4GOUwN3csIZpMZ9joD1FcXHRoDcslvwuLIxa4C_FFRsTTkN9DEc/s1600/IMG_2586.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The game all set (took 15 minutes, not bad) we began - although I'm not sure why Achille would decide to rescue children, the possible answers are a bit scary :-). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOelCXvT-9f8m6nGyBGh3vaJ9-_k1opAbFDWv1Ie-H_pkTLZB-m05MJQJCPY4VaiZ8UcRvz7F2vAbTaXU8os7e-Tn7LqvqcQl6KWVppSonLMvTj-NoOykwu_0_416nMVHZdFNGBec-9ZE/s1600/IMG_2587.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOelCXvT-9f8m6nGyBGh3vaJ9-_k1opAbFDWv1Ie-H_pkTLZB-m05MJQJCPY4VaiZ8UcRvz7F2vAbTaXU8os7e-Tn7LqvqcQl6KWVppSonLMvTj-NoOykwu_0_416nMVHZdFNGBec-9ZE/s1600/IMG_2587.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
First building was cleared quickly using the basic weapons. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDjEUnZbzb6yk50Dm7c8o0xYkH0004yLF2JyUfZ_z-CyendrCbunuG8VAHqJGXKVF5G28j1ipSWj-wg3ag4hxGla7XzarPhj14Kw3PrEN8B1XducnnHGKstnIGQf7dkNbQ0CD8-2UtVz4/s1600/IMG_2588.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, game, play, report, AAr, Achille, Dave, zombies, " border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDjEUnZbzb6yk50Dm7c8o0xYkH0004yLF2JyUfZ_z-CyendrCbunuG8VAHqJGXKVF5G28j1ipSWj-wg3ag4hxGla7XzarPhj14Kw3PrEN8B1XducnnHGKstnIGQf7dkNbQ0CD8-2UtVz4/s1600/IMG_2588.JPG" height="300" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For some reason Achille seemed to draw the children to him...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidPfkrZ77AdspyNKEv1UmWZFiUSHsauN95lxoUYrtWYFumVx3ioo7M5OURajezKxE_nxcdJgz_IZJmYsbGDKED5SKgxxwqvLrogHuspIPLIjK1InlkOAPwiNF4TMIw7GMjbMhYL6piYFE/s1600/IMG_2589.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidPfkrZ77AdspyNKEv1UmWZFiUSHsauN95lxoUYrtWYFumVx3ioo7M5OURajezKxE_nxcdJgz_IZJmYsbGDKED5SKgxxwqvLrogHuspIPLIjK1InlkOAPwiNF4TMIw7GMjbMhYL6piYFE/s1600/IMG_2589.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
On to the next building, now Achille had found an Assault Rifle (one of the best weapons, in my opinion). He quickly killed the zombies (again) and one more child was rescued.<br />

<br />
On to the next building - Dave had found a Concrete Saw and an Automatic Shotgun - armed to the teeth the zombies had little chance at this stage, but we were rapidly approaching Orange... <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Achille had collected the last kid and then the first Abomination entered our part of the city. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHEmdT5TKcQIk2U-vOhr2qVoV0JkfmAILfFVMyj9pHRDyjRDuq9WbsbpEKnXRXb-PukmThuJSmDggpTB8bJyCokad9ZuVmOVGvenF_MVqWqSsoilB7oLjKeIQCnWwt8wQYq874937O5Rw/s1600/IMG_2593.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHEmdT5TKcQIk2U-vOhr2qVoV0JkfmAILfFVMyj9pHRDyjRDuq9WbsbpEKnXRXb-PukmThuJSmDggpTB8bJyCokad9ZuVmOVGvenF_MVqWqSsoilB7oLjKeIQCnWwt8wQYq874937O5Rw/s1600/IMG_2593.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Luckily, Dave's concrete saw was up tot he task and the big guy was chopped into little, crawly pieces. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The mission all done, we headed for the exit and quickly departed, bringing the three children to safety.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
We learnt some new things: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
1) the game is really easy to improvise with. Out mission was a spur of the moment thing but worked really well. Once the basics have been learned there are endless possibilities for fun! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
2) Achlles' skill - Zombie Link - looks a bit week, but in this game it saved our lives and I would judge it to be one of the best skills. He gets a free turn whenever a "extra activation" card is drawn. These are actually what we fear the most - I'd rather have six dogs enter than an extra activation. These are the real killers of a well situated and prepared survivor group and having a player who gets a free turn to remove the dangers, before they can kill you, is amazing. Perhaps this was an exceptional game (three extra activations were played) but I'll never be disappointed seeing a character with this skill in the game!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

All the best,<br />

Hello all,<br />
Just back from Vienna and leaving for the US soon. Just time for an update with pictures :-).<br />
This time it is one of them scary Toxic Abominations!<br />
Although I guess the fact that he is weary bunny slippers might distract a bit from his scariness :-).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhor4DJuyboMCY1FrOXO0sAOBCdK9LUz-bzWviwVPgoHfTfjdDMUKyXWh4r9grPn7UWpoefQUWXOTiMFv9PYUpw7oTTCl5oHmIUVoJrg_eBh5dkXesoA4oC_2rgL693ZC39X7VUMpWWz68/s1600/IMG_1579.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Zombie, Abomination, painted," border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhor4DJuyboMCY1FrOXO0sAOBCdK9LUz-bzWviwVPgoHfTfjdDMUKyXWh4r9grPn7UWpoefQUWXOTiMFv9PYUpw7oTTCl5oHmIUVoJrg_eBh5dkXesoA4oC_2rgL693ZC39X7VUMpWWz68/s1600/IMG_1579.JPG" height="357" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
A great mini - but he takes a long, long time to paint. The sheer amount of skin is a hassle and all the small detail is only visible once you are halfway through the chap. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
His slippers where fun, as were his briefs. Considered painting them to be really disgusting, but I felt like he didn't really need it :-). <br />

On second thought, I think he is still plenty scary his slippers notwithstanding!<br />

Hello all,<br />
<br />
Still busy finishing papers for various conferences and the articles they spawn (got an interesting one on Pistis Sophia coming up, if anyone is interested :-)). So little - or rather, no painting happening, unfortunately.<br />
I do still have a few miniatures painted that I havn't shown yet, so here are a few of the Berserker type of zombie walkers from Zombicide (of course).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwffNPjzQwFleLgGBqisKmcOfQ__ErNwWAdXvF3xXJfqlZ3uLfZJ_60lY5qbCvHmJyvzzaP4EKLSTNPVzBe8B2HGgLqQym9DkMYDXkhTgyDRRRC3NLlDwSWsZ-tryM6dCgYLewzh84tJk/s1600/IMG_1594.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombie, Walker, Zombicide, Berserker, painted" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwffNPjzQwFleLgGBqisKmcOfQ__ErNwWAdXvF3xXJfqlZ3uLfZJ_60lY5qbCvHmJyvzzaP4EKLSTNPVzBe8B2HGgLqQym9DkMYDXkhTgyDRRRC3NLlDwSWsZ-tryM6dCgYLewzh84tJk/s1600/IMG_1594.JPG" height="242" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
To be consistent, they have the same blue colour to mark them as berserkers. I think it works better on the inmates (see <a href="http://zombicidedk.blogspot.dk/2014/06/toxic-fatties-fast-food-addicts-bob-and.html" target="_blank">the two fatties here</a>, for example) than it does on these guards. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBZP7DcdqLzzHDu-DNpzjUOD9ARwnhLUx3E49_oz6xdGdmk0RDFt9i7P3hzosPdkb9VL1ucM7gKJ7azUZvxyJy8OonY2Fwr9bYRm6QPT8x11ggBnloMXc1-loZML3zCnzD4kQGjvlBOpU/s1600/IMG_1596.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombie, Walker, Zombicide, Berserker, painted" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBZP7DcdqLzzHDu-DNpzjUOD9ARwnhLUx3E49_oz6xdGdmk0RDFt9i7P3hzosPdkb9VL1ucM7gKJ7azUZvxyJy8OonY2Fwr9bYRm6QPT8x11ggBnloMXc1-loZML3zCnzD4kQGjvlBOpU/s1600/IMG_1596.JPG" height="201" title="" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I felt obligated to paint them as American prison guards (according to my Google searches). Unfirtunately this does make them a bit muted and boring, but hey! their job is to be gunned down by our brave survivors so who cares, right? To be honest I felt a bit bored painting them and the finished models do, I think, show this to some extent.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivPqRA16X4QvdbqRRq7cnnKe9xCk3STmZL52YUZlgbJa4YcUeQIz28jVKERxV50GV3OR7fH9lsWtCFP8em88e8QhncQClMk0oUXC56VrV-64GZN6iifgxGpS2qPywaRTimv-57Daw-JIg/s1600/IMG_1595.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombie, Walker, Zombicide, Berserker, painted" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivPqRA16X4QvdbqRRq7cnnKe9xCk3STmZL52YUZlgbJa4YcUeQIz28jVKERxV50GV3OR7fH9lsWtCFP8em88e8QhncQClMk0oUXC56VrV-64GZN6iifgxGpS2qPywaRTimv-57Daw-JIg/s1600/IMG_1595.JPG" height="272" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
They are ok sculpts - not the most outstanding of the Prison Outbreak zombies but they serve their purpose. I'll return to them sometime in the future and spice up their bases a bit.<br />
<br />
<br />
All the best,<br />

Hello all,<br />
This being 'conference-season' and all, I hardly get to paint anything. Luckily, I've got a backlog of un-uploaded miniatures that I hope you wont mind looking at.<br />
The two today are Fatties (and I do apologize for their name, but it is the official designation) of the Berserker type:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnNlCHTHU1xIeR280cttecyyJxuBXWMar9LAs1CotWWpLOwhjU4QxHr2OxR6WRl8oh1-tlDNanpVjKDZ66TNMzerY-enKgy7en67lqPumEgpKrHkIUxtBlzlHX4_AKpEPQhhG-3gUMoIE/s1600/IMG_1587.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Toxic, zombie, prison, outbreak, fatty, painted" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnNlCHTHU1xIeR280cttecyyJxuBXWMar9LAs1CotWWpLOwhjU4QxHr2OxR6WRl8oh1-tlDNanpVjKDZ66TNMzerY-enKgy7en67lqPumEgpKrHkIUxtBlzlHX4_AKpEPQhhG-3gUMoIE/s1600/IMG_1587.JPG" height="282" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Bob and Larry were both prison convicts - and I do imagine them being buddies - when the zombiefying disease descended on the jail they were in.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMlutSaqKoTSsjFJHqggQM7sQGDmOza1u-Xhd8k29s8zMqDoV4UzbsB-WPQqPy8qKXGeji1kv5ZBcJtig82Tbc8QSqpWnHjTxqAHSc3sGCTA8buQlM7AEvXC4X3VfKCsXkws6nQcr4_C8/s1600/IMG_1588.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Toxic, zombie, prison, outbreak, fatty, painted" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMlutSaqKoTSsjFJHqggQM7sQGDmOza1u-Xhd8k29s8zMqDoV4UzbsB-WPQqPy8qKXGeji1kv5ZBcJtig82Tbc8QSqpWnHjTxqAHSc3sGCTA8buQlM7AEvXC4X3VfKCsXkws6nQcr4_C8/s1600/IMG_1588.JPG" height="335" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
While the blue colour isn't 'canon' in the Zombiecide universe, I needed a colour that would instantly be clear and mark them as Berserking zombies. Having used green already for the toxics, blue seemed a natural choice. It works okay - especially against the orange prison uniforms. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidGCONLz0llVzntQY8QJv46krF1m_sDFG3ro1ZLJiVFKUEbPMsgH7ADzNZEiwNzJL7azdIpR0UCVBgISwnCdFbwzCNRFlCK0Cv_B-4Y0xso9fMY3lmmM75JF63lgeIAxpIsncQIia44UM/s1600/IMG_1589.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Toxic, zombie, prison, outbreak, fatty, painted" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidGCONLz0llVzntQY8QJv46krF1m_sDFG3ro1ZLJiVFKUEbPMsgH7ADzNZEiwNzJL7azdIpR0UCVBgISwnCdFbwzCNRFlCK0Cv_B-4Y0xso9fMY3lmmM75JF63lgeIAxpIsncQIia44UM/s1600/IMG_1589.JPG" height="277" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We've tried using the Toxic and Berserker zombies a few times, but to be honest they only seem to complicate the game in a way that doesn't really make sense. Perhaps We will use them more in the future, but now, with all the new rules, boards, etc. there seems to more than enough fun with the basic game. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Booo!</td></tr>

<br />
Here Bob and Larry have found a nice used car salesman, somewhat surprised with requests.<br />
<br />

Hello all,<br />
So another of the survivors got paint on her. This time it is Elsa, who apparently was a cat-burglar in 'normal' life. I was looking forward to painting her, but to be honest I was really disappointed with the quality of the sculpt. The body is a fine latex suit, and her weapons look mean, but the face and hair was a bit of a let-down. Especially on the zombivore version she looks more like a grinning monkey than human. In the end I was sufficently annoyed that she was finished as a rush job. She still looks alright from a distance...:<br />

Perhaps, in time, I'll go back and highlight her latex-suit a bit more carefully and do something about her hair. At least her *primary assets* will probably attract most viewers attention, alleviating your criticisms concerning her facial features :-) <br />

<br />
We've tested her once and her beginning skill (Break-in, a free, silent, open doors-action each round), is great at first but at later stages becomes less remarkable.On the other hand, she will become very, very mobile once in the red zone, so she should often be among the surviving survivors.<br />

The official blurp for Elsa:<br />
<div class="quote" style="text-align: justify;">
"<i>Next time, they might as well lock the door with gift wrap. It won’t be more secure, only prettier</i>."</div>
<div class="bioText" style="text-align: justify;">
Born a beautiful girl in a poor family, Elsa
learned that agility, attractiveness, and subtlety could open all the
doors to wealth. Stealing precious goods was her daily adrenalin fix,
especially if it involved acrobatics and a real security challenge.<br />
Elsa
was running from the cops on the roofs when the zombies came and
changed her life. Gold is useless now, but locked doors still shelter
precious goods. Smiling and playful amidst the chaos, this kitten enjoys
the apocalypse. All social barriers are down, only skill matters. And
how skillful Elsa is!</div>

Despite the crappy face, she looks fine from a distance and will add some colour to the survivor-group.<br />
Hope you liked Elsa - more survivors and zombies coming soon(ish).<br />

These were done very quickly - twenty minutes tops. Chestnut wash, black for the leather, a bit of metal, off-white for the eyes and teeth and then a healthy applicantion of blood. Done. But they look alright on the board. <br />

If you havn't played Zombicide yet, then these beasts are actually some of the nastiest opponents due to their speed. A normal zombie gets one action each turn, runners two, but these beasts get three. Bad news if a large pack appears!<br />

Hello all,<br />
<br />
Not sure if everyone interested have seen/received these but if not, then they will be available here :-).<br />
This is the two cross-over characters (both survivors and zombivore) from the Wrath of Kings kickstarter which were made into Zombicide characters.<br />
Now I didn't get these - and the completist in me is crying quitly about it - but they look alright. Both are combat beasts according to their skills, and the minis also look nice (although weird for someone like me who knows nothing about the Wrath of Kings-universe), although a bit soft in the detailing?<br />
<br />
Anyways here are the pictures and stat cards of Alyana Heska and Union Worker #42:<br />

Her Survivor mini carries a set of shotguns, while the zombivore has changed these for some serious guns - 44. Magnums? I must admit I don't mind painting scantily clad ladies, but if I was caught in the zombipocalypse, I would have donned a full set of body armour... perhaps the disease is spread through the air in Guillotine Games' universe?</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
She is one of the better sculpts - great detail and for once the eyes are the 'correct' size (they seem to be overly small on most survivors, while on others they are far too large). She did get a somewhat frenzied look when I painted her (not sure you can see the eyes that well on these images?) which I kept as it seemed to suit her. Again, I've tried to stay true to the character drawings on the cards, although I did add a wee bit of blood on the survivor...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had serious troubles painting her stubbles (or what remains of her hair) - trying at first a black diluted wash, but in the end it turned out a diluted grey was the easiest way to achieve the look. I think she turned out all right. </div>

The official description of this hard ass Irish survivor is:</div>

wars, police, militia, the army, she had it all but never found a fight

accident with her last partner, Shannon was looking for a bouncer job
when zombies came and gave her life real meaning. Shannon now has many
causes to fight for: survival, protecting untrained people, and
exterminating zombies with extreme prejudice. Surrounded by blood and

Hello all,<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We enjoyed a nice evening/night playing Zombicide and as usual it was a blast - the game is so well designed that it simply amazes me. And it is dawning on me just how great the reply value is; the random combination of survivors, zombie draws and weapons available makes each mission very unique.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So the first mission was <i><b>M00, Tutorial: Break-in</b></i> from the Prison Outbreak rulebook. In short our heroes (Goth Amy, Troy the Traveller, and Ralph the Cowboy) had to secure a violet keyto the prison (why violet?!?). The prison - in true Walking Death-style - had been deemed a secure place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So we went hunting for the key - unfortunately in the very first room Amy searched, she discovered an Abomination. Now, a bit panicked, but on the other we have gotten quite good at "managing" zombies, so the abomination was herded to and fro, posing little danger, but always a potential threat.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFsdu-IGQ52u82qsdD2QIzSpI7DCZPBLHAz_hxo6BpC2MYF5WickxZaK-g5Ih1FOZJLqov5lTV4pZMIGSOVxccq5dVzZmTNEsdKUpE7wXPo7oQeVJYTBlcPjlBQJQ3Cxkie0e3y5kcH4Q/s1600/IMG_1708.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Game play, Tutorial" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFsdu-IGQ52u82qsdD2QIzSpI7DCZPBLHAz_hxo6BpC2MYF5WickxZaK-g5Ih1FOZJLqov5lTV4pZMIGSOVxccq5dVzZmTNEsdKUpE7wXPo7oQeVJYTBlcPjlBQJQ3Cxkie0e3y5kcH4Q/s1600/IMG_1708.JPG" height="300" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
While Amy was busy, Ralph and Troy managed the rest of the zombies and before we knew it the mission was in the bag - an automatic shot gun made short work of the zombies inside the barbed wire squares of the prison while a police car kept running down zombies on the streets. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguBp_HiTG4GevQCWntb-iv-iLBgt98riAkATuJKOHHXUgLo41R4WeEaz9ZBMWQY_y-2fD0w7zYe1nunXBCGmyXz6VddU97KDOEMTT5f-abJCYUwBuBDZDYL_0RJ58DDPszWqXiCNmFmy0/s1600/IMG_1707.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Game play, Tutorial" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguBp_HiTG4GevQCWntb-iv-iLBgt98riAkATuJKOHHXUgLo41R4WeEaz9ZBMWQY_y-2fD0w7zYe1nunXBCGmyXz6VddU97KDOEMTT5f-abJCYUwBuBDZDYL_0RJ58DDPszWqXiCNmFmy0/s1600/IMG_1707.JPG" height="300" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All in all the mission seemed quite easy (not that we would complain about that :-)) and we managed to stay in the yellow-zone, avoiding too many zombies. It turned out finding the abomination early and the key late was a blessing. The abomination meant that no such being would spawn inside the prison and thus break the barbed wire (we actually drew one the turn after Amy ahd found 'her' abomination) meaning half the zombies were herded into one square were they were easy to kill. Also, the choice of postponing searching for the key until we were in position meant the purple spawn zone didn't activate until we were geared up and ready. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPDFXhTck5hy0E0_2iob5nAgO1VSqKiaBRndjU_m6Wx5lUiw2r6Jbk55opieS7TcNTYI7Y4-FLJx7puRyNXd_p9FTKYeHVdcpT-fubhFbqwnzqRVTkA7SW3Yn3x2o5u_9Fuwgf1i-qKMk/s1600/IMG_1710.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Game play, Tutorial" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPDFXhTck5hy0E0_2iob5nAgO1VSqKiaBRndjU_m6Wx5lUiw2r6Jbk55opieS7TcNTYI7Y4-FLJx7puRyNXd_p9FTKYeHVdcpT-fubhFbqwnzqRVTkA7SW3Yn3x2o5u_9Fuwgf1i-qKMk/s1600/IMG_1710.JPG" height="300" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All in all, a great game and a well thought out introduction-mission. Amy is (with her great skills) a brilliant starting character, Ralph and Troy seemed capable but were never really tested.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The second mission we played was <i><b>M01: the Blueprints</b></i>. Having secured the entrance to the prison, a new set of heroes were sent out to secure the area and attain some blueprints to make sure each entrance to the prison was nailed shut. This game had Amy (again), Chuck (Momma's Boy), and good ol' Though Nick in it and once the quite difficult rules for the mission had been read, and re-read, we began.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5KU-hRhuwrq55C0Wb8VjBm1LAXrhJU9wn9dIqeEKCSr0bLjbm9Fgjta2qLvriV6SDCYlUchKigEJ4YESU2cEjsZcfvziVHLNRfhvGBp_7c8iEUCV03OkDtxLJS8Nh7Ka9X2SEeFxD83Q/s1600/IMG_1711.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5KU-hRhuwrq55C0Wb8VjBm1LAXrhJU9wn9dIqeEKCSr0bLjbm9Fgjta2qLvriV6SDCYlUchKigEJ4YESU2cEjsZcfvziVHLNRfhvGBp_7c8iEUCV03OkDtxLJS8Nh7Ka9X2SEeFxD83Q/s1600/IMG_1711.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One curious aspect of the mission was the central security gate - not sure if we played it entirely correct (although I think so) but it was possible (through some clever manoeuvring) to capture the starting abomination and several 'innocent' zombies within the room. This meant we could take the long way around. We did have a few close calls due to massive amounts of runners but a combination of Amy's speed, Nicks incredible toughness (coupled with a Police Riot Shield), and Ralph's low profile meant we had the game under control. Well almost, each hero was wounded, but that was only due to a couple of unfortunate extra activation-cards. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We also, to my surprise, managed the game with quite poor equipment - Amy (the winner on points, who passed red) only had dual pistols and Nick had dual shot guns. both were augmented with re-rolls and similar, but still interesting.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A great mission, interesting possibilities of the security gate and plenty of fun with the sniper towers, cars etc. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Amy was great as always (that extra speed is a blessing), Ralph's "low Profile" was a game winner, as was the old dependable though Nick.</div>
<br />
Two brilliant games, plenty of beer and good laughs - Zombicide rocks!<br />
<br />
All the best,<br />

Hello all,<br />
Two more zombies of the toxic variety - this time painted bright sparkly colours to give the board some colour :-).<br />

Not my favourite sculpt, but they do look like they are doing the classic 'zombie'-shuffle...<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello all,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So the Liebster thing is circulating like a virus. But a benevolent virus (if that makes any sense?). I received a nomination on <a href="http://warmasterdk.blogspot.dk/" target="_blank">my other blog</a> early on but considered it ridiculous. But now, having read and enjoyed numerous responses to the chain letter-thingy, I have reconsidered and find it a brilliant way of getting to know other bloggers better. So it was with great pleasure that Sjeng from <a href="http://yeoldeinn-heroquest.blogspot.dk/">http://yeoldeinn-heroquest.blogspot.dk</a> nominated this blog and thus gave me a second chance to divulge my secrets - thanks Sjeng! We both share a love for two of the best boardgames ever produced; Heroquest and Zombicide... wonder if Sjeng ever tried BloodBowl?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So as I understand it I have to let the world know 11 secrets about myself, answer 11 questions posed by Sjeng, and then nominate 11 new blogs. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In order to keep it interesting (and divert your attention from my crappy "Danglish") I'll also be showing one of the latest zombies I've painted. It is one of the new fatties, a delightful fat lady - quite scary actually and she was a pleasure to paint.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Come and give mommy a kiss!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>So eleven secrets?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1: I ponder each and every little detail. Everything. For instance, why eleven questions and not, say ten? In school the psychiatrist diagnosed me as manio-contemplative. I have since found out that he probably made the term up, but it seems fitting :-).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2: I recently finished, and successfully defended, my ph.d.-dissertation. This was the hardest thing I've ever done and it nearly killed me. I love researching (and I think secret #1 is a great asset for this) but spending on average 16 hours at my desk for a year, away from my family and hobbies, was slowly draining me of the will to live. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3: I've taught seven classes at the University and have loved each and every second of it - but it has also scared the shit out of me. Trying to teach young, brilliant students stuff I hardly understand myself is really, really intimidating. They have been successful courses though - I hold the record for highest grade average and most students passing their exams (also the second place :-)). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4: I really, really love teaching and the only reason I did my ph.d. was to enable me to get more classes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5: Better find something not work related :-). I suffer from the heart-"disease" <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/wolff-parkinson-white/basics/definition/con-20043508" target="_blank">WPW</a> (Wolff-Parkinsons-White). I have always thought the name was cool and had a were-wolfy sound to it :-).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6: I drink coffee by the buckets. I would rather have a gallon of mediocre hot coffee than one cup of fancy-pancy coffee.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
7: I'm a really sloppy painter, thus no 'work-in-progress'- pictures from me. I'll paint quickly and without regard for where the paint is going, and then I'll have to spend a long time cleaning up the figures afterwards.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
8: I've done more drugs than I care to think about. And more types than I can remember. Haven't done any for years, though.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
9: I spent a year after high-school working in a coffee-shop in Amsterdam (see secret #8), squatting a hotel, fighting neo-nazis on the streets, and having a blast.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
10: I spent another year in India working as a leather smith producing trinkets for the rich tourists at the Anjuna Market (see secret #8). I was forcefully thrown out of the country by the police for having overstayed my visa and only managed to get a couple of items with me. The best thing I made was a double-bag for a motorcycle, but the thing I really wish I had managed to secure was a backgammon board in leather which folded up into a small bag. I was really happy with how that turned out.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
11: I think someone has continually watched over me (see secrets # 2, 8, 9, and 10). Considering what I've been through, I have never been badly hurt nor sick and for that I am really, really grateful today.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
12: A bonus secret: I really miss my dad. He passed away very suddenly last year and I think about him everyday. Do me a favour - if your parents are still alive, please give them a call (or a visit) <i>today</i> and tell them you love them. </div>
<br />

<b>11 Questions from Sjeng:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. What was your very first miniature? Did you paint it?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My cousin got a copy of a Danish roleplaying game called "Drager og Dæmoner" ("Dragons and Demons") - a complete rip off of D&D - which he didn't appreciate. I, on the other hand, had suddenly discovered an entirely new world and loved it. With the game came a handful of really bad miniatures, but I found them brilliant. One of these was a Troll which I "painted" - I still have it somewhere (although it has been repainted several times since) - and the paintjob looked like something done with goo and dirt. I think I used Humbrol paint, but whatever type of paint it was, heavy layers were applied.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. What's your favourite boardgame?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Difficult question - Zombicide (because I get to play it regularly), Heroquest (because I play it with the family), and Bloodbowl (still the best game ever made and I really love the campaign rules, but I never get to play it).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. What's your favourite videogame?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used to play numerous games but today I havn't played a real game in years - perhaps Clash of Clans on the Ipad, as I play it sometimes with my sons.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. How much time do you spend on your hobbies</b>?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There has been a long period of little or no time spent (see secret #2) but today I often use five hours a day painting miniatures, photographing, blogging, and reading other blogs.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>5. What do you do for a living, and do you enjoy it?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I teach at a University, although at the moment I'm unemployed, busy applying for post doc.s.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>6. If you had a superpower, what would it be</b>?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Remembering everything I read. I hate how much brilliant knowledge I've forgotten.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>7. What sort of movies do you watch?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Haven't been to a cinema for a long time - and rarely see anything on the TV. But I enjoy most genres - fantasy, humorous, historical, etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>8. What sort of music do you listen to?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've got 45 days worth of music on the computer and this will normally just shuffle all day. I enjoy most types (from classical music to heavy metal), but Johnny Cash holds a special place in my heart.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>9. What's your favourite food?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Used to be bacon, but I find myself increasingly turning into a vegetarian. I do make a brilliant Stinging-Nettle Pie, that even the kids like - and it gives bragging rights in school that they eat Stinging-Nettles :-).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>10. What's your greatest ambition?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would really like to publish a monograph and to have it make a positive impact on the scholarly world. I've got a contract with a German publisher regarding my Ph.D., but I do not really think it will make a great impact on anything - apart from my CV :-). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>11. What your greatest regret?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The people I have mistreated - both in school and in later life. It took me far too long to realise that treating other people kindly is the only thing that matters in life. </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinoVAQHGfjdXvOIb9R27xsMSRoFGymY7gwbcas86fY6JZGicgAc1cGFStNzD3Ss7dqxyaqCuaT6tlbeHrk_bv3uivDzOB0gyryZ8-SUbMajEGIBZt3QKU7-PfR_DcdqwpNKCUDTo3_C9c/s1600/IMG_1585.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Painted, Fatty, Zombie" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinoVAQHGfjdXvOIb9R27xsMSRoFGymY7gwbcas86fY6JZGicgAc1cGFStNzD3Ss7dqxyaqCuaT6tlbeHrk_bv3uivDzOB0gyryZ8-SUbMajEGIBZt3QKU7-PfR_DcdqwpNKCUDTo3_C9c/s1600/IMG_1585.JPG" height="328" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So the only remaining thing is to nominate 11 new blogs and so spread the contagion. But I think I will do it a bit different and wait a year or so before doing this. This will allow the Liebster to survive and any new blogs created in the mean time to get nominated.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thanks for reading - I hope it wasn't too boring!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello all,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I must admit the arrival of 24 new survivors and zombivores made me panic a bit. I really like painting these minis, but I also want to play with painted miniatures and the drastic plastic pile was becoming intimidating.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I've devoted a couple of days to painting the brilliant minis (well, most are brilliant) from Guillotine Games.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mack, the Car Salesman, is the first of ten I managed to get finished: </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglGMM4bUmu8gsTjVePmYy4TOMSWABIheV2UKSvMI_iY3tWUm_jghC_-0Ft-5zvKn90qUWMIkbqIVJQxp7llr0UPYNQbmR1tjaYpSjGKIy8pz6ytP-d5fJL6gv79wLdg-fdHS65hPOYGcI/s1600/IMG_1544.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mack, car, Salesman, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombicide, painted, kukri" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglGMM4bUmu8gsTjVePmYy4TOMSWABIheV2UKSvMI_iY3tWUm_jghC_-0Ft-5zvKn90qUWMIkbqIVJQxp7llr0UPYNQbmR1tjaYpSjGKIy8pz6ytP-d5fJL6gv79wLdg-fdHS65hPOYGcI/s1600/IMG_1544.JPG" height="295" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Not a Golden Demon standard but sufficient for the boardgame. For some reason the awkwardly positioned survivor Mack got a really scared look - you might be able to see it in the pictures. I considered redoing his eyes, but figured it was quite appropriate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOzeaDgjKMFb5Vz5Aw8kwnPM64t5-Ed2T9vQVFM65IrpGyiRZUEA-piYgme7WsaE24omoyzKmOjCSVaJ7d592FiAIKXQhJXFeN5Cs5-xd7wN1Rgf0STjQTXlImN1g9-Pqwcr7eT6iVjcc/s1600/IMG_1545.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mack, car, Salesman, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombicide, painted, kukri" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOzeaDgjKMFb5Vz5Aw8kwnPM64t5-Ed2T9vQVFM65IrpGyiRZUEA-piYgme7WsaE24omoyzKmOjCSVaJ7d592FiAIKXQhJXFeN5Cs5-xd7wN1Rgf0STjQTXlImN1g9-Pqwcr7eT6iVjcc/s1600/IMG_1545.JPG" height="313" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Mack is armed with a vicious pair of Kukris - although the travails of becoming a Zombivore has meant he lost one - along with the scared look :-).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS4LXP7Hu_QC__bf5UxnxQv_B0aTGZtOn9xbTC6iITB-LHR7ZQ_rj3j-Lp4KMTehN_hWzhtxKK1E2EMQN9necWnGLtmc54FCzimlmeb6RaQ-uhn5PSouLi-c9um0hX0K83k0sDla0kf5I/s1600/IMG_1547.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mack, car, Salesman, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombicide, painted, kukri" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS4LXP7Hu_QC__bf5UxnxQv_B0aTGZtOn9xbTC6iITB-LHR7ZQ_rj3j-Lp4KMTehN_hWzhtxKK1E2EMQN9necWnGLtmc54FCzimlmeb6RaQ-uhn5PSouLi-c9um0hX0K83k0sDla0kf5I/s1600/IMG_1547.JPG" height="312" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Mack is (I think) obviously meant to resemble Nicolas Cage as Cameron Poe in Con Air - although I don't think Mr. Cage (not the best actor in my book...) was ever cool enough to employ dual kukris?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4F5OwiR7DG6nRkZrggReEuEXnHsXS65MMXjt2e2zoDFpx-UO2q0nWMG-bfyCELTKjz5QYbm0Y1ycPinRKzw2vkrOOpW-RA4-fsdw83-QIwvEA7d5jHaN01KRF0rSVUwdDbnVq0QYz0pU/s1600/nicolas+cage-rey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4F5OwiR7DG6nRkZrggReEuEXnHsXS65MMXjt2e2zoDFpx-UO2q0nWMG-bfyCELTKjz5QYbm0Y1ycPinRKzw2vkrOOpW-RA4-fsdw83-QIwvEA7d5jHaN01KRF0rSVUwdDbnVq0QYz0pU/s1600/nicolas+cage-rey.jpg" height="320" width="230" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
His description in Zombicide is as follows:<br />
<div class="quote">
"Time to test drive these kukris!"</div>
<div class="bioText">
<i>Mack’s story is like most – an ordinary, happy man
until the zombies rose, forced to dig deep or die. His peaceful previous
life hid his true potential – unfortunately, it took burying his wife
and two daughters to bring it out. Taking a car from his lot, he began a
cross country zombicide, eventually joining the motley crew of
survivors. Mack’s fighting spirit has made him a precious resource for
any team, and his manic grin gets even wider the worse the odds are!</i></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHVqk-L9ejtnkurYiptsCCLfRDqiVIkzGszA2o6Pn1yhp-C54LibVfkTTy0dLqKQqX5ezmo3QInlsTWeIi4YUP7a-xXrNcsJFwvOc9NOoDZh6wLnaawTES_nri06DKMQcNrPqfIW5NAJM/s1600/IMG_1546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mack, car, Salesman, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombicide, painted, kukri" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHVqk-L9ejtnkurYiptsCCLfRDqiVIkzGszA2o6Pn1yhp-C54LibVfkTTy0dLqKQqX5ezmo3QInlsTWeIi4YUP7a-xXrNcsJFwvOc9NOoDZh6wLnaawTES_nri06DKMQcNrPqfIW5NAJM/s1600/IMG_1546.JPG" height="252" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
All in all, a nice mini and I think he will kill his share of zombies once he is let into the action.<br />

Hello all,<br />
Two of the new promo survivors came with their own weapons and appropriate weapons cards. Will's Comet Laucher serves as a Molotov Cocktail - and may be the best weapon in game - and Ross' bowling ball is a sure hit, doing 3 damage. Both seem a bit broken, but hey, as long as the zombies are killed who cares?<br />
But one detail of the Bowling Ball-card puzzles me: What is the range of the ball? What does 1-1 mean? If anyone knows I would love to be let into this secret :-). And we have a game this Friday, so I would really appreciate the information - untill then I'll treat it as a range "1" weapon<br />

Hello all,<br />
<br />
Just when I thought the pile of unpainted survivors was becoming manageable, 24 new ones arrive at my doorstep.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLYTx7QSJgLVfIaOdE8bE_PIGVzrd7CLRIO8fKVHGaYce8MdP1h4RTFUu_Rw2GWumGFdShfG0OLYonV_cPxf-rbci3nKSTfm1Qw_XhXMQoRfhqqp-z3Eb5O3-MWdS1qODYU79FfXEAEas/s1600/IMG_1421.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fred the Trader, Helen the Federal Agent, Will the Game Designer, Ross the Manager, Rob the Security Agent, Don the Civil Servant, Frank the Repo Man, Mack the Car Salesman, Chuck Momma's Boy, Gary the Misfit, Achille the Serial Killer " border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLYTx7QSJgLVfIaOdE8bE_PIGVzrd7CLRIO8fKVHGaYce8MdP1h4RTFUu_Rw2GWumGFdShfG0OLYonV_cPxf-rbci3nKSTfm1Qw_XhXMQoRfhqqp-z3Eb5O3-MWdS1qODYU79FfXEAEas/s1600/IMG_1421.JPG" height="157" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
A veritable army of 'good guys'!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0IeMJZOtImVxr804VjEPp6wBO5OmSBpCN35YPHHIY8EdNhvdC3J4KixoJnYPtHeHusHs8WbWTzVFcsG1Axenu0OfCEQ8389MV_QU0CJj2-H4tB4CrEbSUso52O-XPbHL_UZdNphNhUd8/s1600/IMG_1424.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0IeMJZOtImVxr804VjEPp6wBO5OmSBpCN35YPHHIY8EdNhvdC3J4KixoJnYPtHeHusHs8WbWTzVFcsG1Axenu0OfCEQ8389MV_QU0CJj2-H4tB4CrEbSUso52O-XPbHL_UZdNphNhUd8/s1600/IMG_1424.JPG" height="191" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And with them, my box of unpainted plastic is suddenly quite full...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrHee-MxtccQDikAQTbPy7PN0AAFg_Ukr8dgCKFGJVNFXF8YvqPMLmRdlJXi8FQ3Sh1b9lzxZKyyLwg0r-0r1AA2Z8_tvYwenf4AXEWVlVdfWP3Nkkd4ubPQQaVZb9-9ZaSO7QMHEomqc/s1600/IMG_1427.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrHee-MxtccQDikAQTbPy7PN0AAFg_Ukr8dgCKFGJVNFXF8YvqPMLmRdlJXi8FQ3Sh1b9lzxZKyyLwg0r-0r1AA2Z8_tvYwenf4AXEWVlVdfWP3Nkkd4ubPQQaVZb9-9ZaSO7QMHEomqc/s1600/IMG_1427.JPG" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Oh dear, at least they are brilliant sculpts.<br />
<br />
First up are the promo survivors:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggV1GEWGVMdneCeRUHNwYtlW7FFd-xPxDieGDciT71fjo-WDupBS0uElwZHrN26jdW6jSugsSOZG8qCpRhJOSDDU3SIBCKeXcsOSXpQNSL4nnfXSfoUho6lE9_2oLzk_vU-A_K7qUS7Zw/s1600/IMG_1410.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggV1GEWGVMdneCeRUHNwYtlW7FFd-xPxDieGDciT71fjo-WDupBS0uElwZHrN26jdW6jSugsSOZG8qCpRhJOSDDU3SIBCKeXcsOSXpQNSL4nnfXSfoUho6lE9_2oLzk_vU-A_K7qUS7Zw/s1600/IMG_1410.JPG" height="187" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Ross the Manager and Will the Game Designer - both come with their own special equipment cards. I really like that, shows a degree of love for the game from the designers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfS3bMmTPEJE5MXqtjL-lamsCIrJolV0uQLxRrXZ6ILX3HbXtyZTf6BdtU9CgcL6h-k26efmRkLL_A3LjA23QM5nG0PnLM3vFZD4RLzEF7oQ-tDUKF-SsQ8-qa-QXFMC_Tt-yMYPnKDdQ/s1600/IMG_1411.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfS3bMmTPEJE5MXqtjL-lamsCIrJolV0uQLxRrXZ6ILX3HbXtyZTf6BdtU9CgcL6h-k26efmRkLL_A3LjA23QM5nG0PnLM3vFZD4RLzEF7oQ-tDUKF-SsQ8-qa-QXFMC_Tt-yMYPnKDdQ/s1600/IMG_1411.JPG" height="205" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Next is Helen the Federal Agent (perhaps one of the best sculpts so far by Guillotine Games!) and Fred the Trader: <br />

Hello all,<br />
These were the first of the toxic zombies I painted so the skin tones are a bit diverse. I tried a sickly green (the babe on the far right) but in the end I decided that their postulent green spikes/buboles would be enough to seperate them from the normal zombies (should normal be in crows feet? I guess so :-)).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZAEuMUQCwL3D5wHol1OhegG1K4Gh4L4HtD-HlUzo3V0ybjCOQ5GQS0Y4a9c4CYiWcJIAYVaP_svIeHqgT6qg0ce94aLyo5jSvZIbAx3v0BqPFsiS_U0YX2M5hqOB0CvEjOXKjA5IEIvk/s1600/IMG_1312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Toxic, Walker, bikini, Babe, zombie, painted, " border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZAEuMUQCwL3D5wHol1OhegG1K4Gh4L4HtD-HlUzo3V0ybjCOQ5GQS0Y4a9c4CYiWcJIAYVaP_svIeHqgT6qg0ce94aLyo5jSvZIbAx3v0BqPFsiS_U0YX2M5hqOB0CvEjOXKjA5IEIvk/s1600/IMG_1312.JPG" height="267" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I also tested the new slimy goo-paint from Games Wokshop (can be seen on the chick on the left). Not convinced by it. Looks less like slime than a fuzzy water effect. May use it in the future on bases, but for these rank and file zombies it hardly seems worth the hassle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOsXBWArFqozwMWf01khsaThjouhET1CO8B3fWrCKyjbuv3qbsul6JzI8yA3L7tET6-ThIUEyNrLvudZnOvF1x3VTxwCmx1ssfe2esWPNCrO1PwuUtkOXKVaeEMnnFycj1raCfykeXeq4/s1600/IMG_1313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Toxic, Walker, bikini, Babe, zombie, painted, " border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOsXBWArFqozwMWf01khsaThjouhET1CO8B3fWrCKyjbuv3qbsul6JzI8yA3L7tET6-ThIUEyNrLvudZnOvF1x3VTxwCmx1ssfe2esWPNCrO1PwuUtkOXKVaeEMnnFycj1raCfykeXeq4/s1600/IMG_1313.JPG" height="265" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
These zombies are nice models - suitably twisted and shanbling. I guess the zombicide setting is close to California with the large proportion of bikini clad women?<br />

Hello all,<br />
Good News! It appears the forces of good - the ever troubled survivors of Zombicide - have been sent supernatural help!<br />
During a recent zombie incursion a great beast ascended from above and began destroying zombies left and right! Local survivors only managed to get the following pictures of the beast, but even from these hastily snapped pictures it is clear that the beast is a formidable opponent:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjia48P57FTw6rzuIOuFWMsZ2dDnwzs20eJrRCbM9MbMXnyw5Tm63-WSYHLIEepBWC2uMFZWi5xqDr_TcDhIAarZGhyphenhyphenwR8H4QE79mN3rytbAdnAOlXSI3GLMhL3MDazrRMfBsLwPXK5z7s/s1600/IMG_0426.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjia48P57FTw6rzuIOuFWMsZ2dDnwzs20eJrRCbM9MbMXnyw5Tm63-WSYHLIEepBWC2uMFZWi5xqDr_TcDhIAarZGhyphenhyphenwR8H4QE79mN3rytbAdnAOlXSI3GLMhL3MDazrRMfBsLwPXK5z7s/s1600/IMG_0426.JPG" height="256" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The beast soon killed the zombies (apparently, by knocking them downinto the abyss) and all survivors will in the future pray that it re-appears in their part of town!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcJFLAXD9oSdJgiBzCYfLegBdtcZc4URnNj8ecl1wvOXuL7uFQrLv0WJ6ctbkb9nTXyEoLGUUM7eHgIT14BTpp5oyq7tkHqEB7qednC6bYQqlCNifEdLidaoSjpuC3kzpBBifAkouVGik/s1600/IMG_0424.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcJFLAXD9oSdJgiBzCYfLegBdtcZc4URnNj8ecl1wvOXuL7uFQrLv0WJ6ctbkb9nTXyEoLGUUM7eHgIT14BTpp5oyq7tkHqEB7qednC6bYQqlCNifEdLidaoSjpuC3kzpBBifAkouVGik/s1600/IMG_0424.JPG" height="313" width="400" /></a></div>

Hello all,<br />
Another of Hasslefree's great Juvenile minis is this wee chap:<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Hasslefree's Tom (HFN006)</td></tr>

<br />
He goes by the name of Tom, and carries a squirt gun, a tin foil hat, and a mobile phone. No, I have no idea how he has managed to stay alive, but perhaps he was left behind in a toy store when the zombie apocalypse hit his city. Perhaps the gun shoots acid, or maybe he is simply blessed?<br />
<br />

Hasslefree describe him thusly:<br />
Winner of the 'Civilians & bystanders' category in the Area51
sculpting competition and sculpted by Tom Mason. This fearless little
guy with his tin foil hat and 'super-soaker' water pistol looks all set
to go into open combat with any aliens that threaten his sweetie
collection let alone his planet! Approx 15.5mm to eye level and 21mm to
the top of his head.<br />

Hello all,<br />
So having painted two of the least dressed survivors - and their zombivore versions - I figured I would present a side-by-side view of the ladies. The two are Dakota "Underboob" (<a href="http://zombicidedk.blogspot.dk/2014/04/dakota-queen-of-underboob-painted.html" target="_blank">more pictures here</a>) and Lea "Miniskirt" (<a href="http://zombicidedk.blogspot.dk/2014/04/zombicide-lea-queen-of-miniskirt.html" target="_blank">pictures here</a>) and the interesting thing is how the two sets are a mirrored version of each other:<br />

Note how the survivor Dakota is a mirror of Zombivore Lea, and vice versa for Zombivore Dakota and Survivor Lea - at least in the way their legs are positioned. Quite interesting.<br />

Very nice minis to paint, and although they are a 'bit' underdressed they are part of a fun game and thus isn't something that I have a problem with - will be fun to use them in their painted versions next time we get a game going.<br />
<br />
I'll have some pictures of them with gore and blood up sometime next week. <br />

Hello all,<br />
Following Lea comes Dakota the Convict. Now if Lea is the queen of the miniskirt, Dakota is the undisputed queen of the 'underboob' (trust me, you don't want to google that term, or perhaps you do, I'll judge noone :-)):<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYWLTgfTP0jKMRG2_DrGMY5-llUUo0vgvyeij0OZlsJRFkuv7G8dn1L7sA8sQmzPb5ezDomk_0yUP0rUlqwyszWj1cL1u2oDXWdRawvRiF8q2ANvVCQogNBqliZXKHqKmEjJkPRlNgO-s/s1600/IMG_0765.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Lea, Teenager, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombievore, painted, Underboob, Miniskirt, Dakota, Convict, Pamela, Anderson, Barb, Wire, Wichita" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYWLTgfTP0jKMRG2_DrGMY5-llUUo0vgvyeij0OZlsJRFkuv7G8dn1L7sA8sQmzPb5ezDomk_0yUP0rUlqwyszWj1cL1u2oDXWdRawvRiF8q2ANvVCQogNBqliZXKHqKmEjJkPRlNgO-s/s1600/IMG_0765.JPG" height="247" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Again, this is a "before-all-the gore-has-been-added"-shot, and she was a pleasure to paint. And a quick paint job as well. The boobs do look exaggerated, but then again as she is supposed to portray a more-or-less nude version of Pamela Anderson in presumably Barb Wire (?), she is actually spot on:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizFhs-aRs3ulvBwhAK2wocofIG36wQ8PyMr1ca3r9PERaiUORY0ZzQBnqHte1V-idNpLukzcl0-O0XpiEdBzgKtwtwYrSyj4EUaA8CQnzetoNdU0vm0l61ebmSAy0URUbwvGEuyf_3R5g/s1600/Dakota.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Lea, Teenager, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombievore, painted, Underboob, Miniskirt, Dakota, Convict, Pamela, Anderson, Barb, Wire, Wichita" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizFhs-aRs3ulvBwhAK2wocofIG36wQ8PyMr1ca3r9PERaiUORY0ZzQBnqHte1V-idNpLukzcl0-O0XpiEdBzgKtwtwYrSyj4EUaA8CQnzetoNdU0vm0l61ebmSAy0URUbwvGEuyf_3R5g/s1600/Dakota.jpg" height="400" title="" width="287" /></a></div>
<br />
While Pamela is known for many things, a fashion sense has never been one of them. I must admit that the mini was a pleasure to paint, and even though she is semi-naked, I have little issues with this - it is a game after all and it was a pleasure to paint all that skin :-). I did have serious troubles identifying where her t-shirt was supposed to end at the neck - there is almost no details there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJGU1z6moND5HTpt0YVsuaFs6z_sRw4PDVeZPZN7KsyaTRECtq8wLsQquHrbZeZBKuYMPrCNZCeHUVkvzkhs1iVmuxAP-ym7fjFws6q0TXN8EjgpyWahYd2-t9DZC-BN4Bm9W5JS-BGF0/s1600/IMG_0768.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Lea, Teenager, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombievore, painted, Underboob, Miniskirt, Dakota, Convict, Pamela, Anderson, Barb, Wire, Wichita" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJGU1z6moND5HTpt0YVsuaFs6z_sRw4PDVeZPZN7KsyaTRECtq8wLsQquHrbZeZBKuYMPrCNZCeHUVkvzkhs1iVmuxAP-ym7fjFws6q0TXN8EjgpyWahYd2-t9DZC-BN4Bm9W5JS-BGF0/s1600/IMG_0768.JPG" height="245" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The official text on Dakota is as follows:<br />
<br />
<div class="quote">
"The law no longer protects the weak. Nothing protects the weak. Do you feel weak?"</div>
<div class="bioText">
<i>With her stunning looks and wits, Dakota could
have lived a comfortable life. Instead, she chose a life of crime. She
did time for everything from robbery to car theft. Her last sentence
would have kept her inside long enough to go from the jail to the old
folks home, but then the zombies came. Dakota is done running and
hiding. She’s here to claim her liberty and gain respect by spilling
zombie blood anywhere she chooses to call home. She speaks freely about
her past to any survivor she meets and improvises according to their
reaction. But is she really the evil person she claims to be?</i></div>
<br />
I'll put up a shot of the two "queens of questionable fashion sense" shortly :-).<br />

Hello all,<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I actually managed to paint a set of survivors! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first is that rascally youth, Lea the Teenager. An optional promotional survivor from the last kickstarter she is - apparently - based on E<span class="st">mily Jean "Emma" Stone in her role as </span><span class="st"><span class="st">Wichita</span> in Zombieland. A brilliant movie but while the face resembles that actress, the clothing does not really look like what Wichita wore. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="st">And speaking of clothing, she is without doubt the queen of miniskirts - any shorter and this would be a "not safe for work" post.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhCTH3E0wz3ynRtwJGvBsmwwqfzs7V39dQe2QeYwHibhv5hcNaPQ0ZvyyHRWWgVTIkOyOlXreXXGnagPeaSu2Cs9HlovE8mpeOgULIddnWkKn9W5DSbi-mCXZUlpLlqrpneP29zawg4F4/s1600/IMG_0769.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Lea, Teenager, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombievore, painted, Miniskirt, Wichita" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhCTH3E0wz3ynRtwJGvBsmwwqfzs7V39dQe2QeYwHibhv5hcNaPQ0ZvyyHRWWgVTIkOyOlXreXXGnagPeaSu2Cs9HlovE8mpeOgULIddnWkKn9W5DSbi-mCXZUlpLlqrpneP29zawg4F4/s1600/IMG_0769.JPG" height="248" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The mini is a brilliant sculpt and was great fun to paint - nice detailing and a well-shaped subject. I've tried to make her look as the official card (although her hair is more red, but I quite liked the nuance I got and didn't want to tone it down):<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvEapfXlU180vREz9qHys5Q09-YmUA-2NbuCQZ630LUcQIbGueK6mSpJv_2y0MQ-8LFh8ydTC6mGKv044WSFmoF37ZJOn2qN4076jNMtB2dbkk8ODdf2UWo4K8ii5n7RdFXfvl3tOaOzg/s1600/Lea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvEapfXlU180vREz9qHys5Q09-YmUA-2NbuCQZ630LUcQIbGueK6mSpJv_2y0MQ-8LFh8ydTC6mGKv044WSFmoF37ZJOn2qN4076jNMtB2dbkk8ODdf2UWo4K8ii5n7RdFXfvl3tOaOzg/s1600/Lea.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I've not finished her base yet, nor applied any blood to her (primarily the zombivore version) as I wanted to show a "clean" version. A bloodied version will follow in a few days.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQilcgLpD0oePoUhLPdQvnCIAY2sjsk5BxWM0NSDlGtid48kXTx-yF0kFgsCU6eI3xSw11U3jT3JksTV7pQxF7dGFFIhwI2qThwDVitugApqgXnTGpMphDY_f47vGfG7Hl5UIK4S3g9fk/s1600/IMG_0771.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Zombicide, Lea, Teenager, Survivor, Zombivore, Zombievore, painted, Miniskirt, Wichita" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQilcgLpD0oePoUhLPdQvnCIAY2sjsk5BxWM0NSDlGtid48kXTx-yF0kFgsCU6eI3xSw11U3jT3JksTV7pQxF7dGFFIhwI2qThwDVitugApqgXnTGpMphDY_f47vGfG7Hl5UIK4S3g9fk/s1600/IMG_0771.JPG" height="253" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The official brief on this character is:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<i>Headstrong and resourceful, Lea was one of the rare teenagers who
hung out with the popular kids and made the honor role. Had her fiery
temper not caused so much mischief among teachers and classmates alike,
she could have reached the very top. Society and its dumb rules didn't
fit her taste, and that kept her from having it all. The zombies
changed all that.</i><br />
<i>
</i><i>Life has gotten more challenging for Lea. She has outsmarted and
outgunned most opponents so far, but lately she finds she's afraid to be
left alone. She is learning to swallow her pride and trust the other
survivors. Zombies are teaching her how life can be easier when you
have friends you can rely on.</i><br />
<i>
</i><i>Lea is an optional promotional survivor available to those that raise
an extra amount on their pledge for the Zombicide Season Two
Kickstarter campaign. A zombie version (Zombivor) will also be included.</i><br />
<br />
All the best,<br />

Hello all,<br />
It seems the number of visitors to this zombierific blog crept above the magic number 100.000 during the weekend. I really want to thank each and everyone, but as that would take quite a while, I've decided this would be an appropriate moment to lineup all the zombies and survivors from the Zombicide game I've painted so far. Think of it as a photo-apocalyptic-thank-you from me to you :-).<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello all,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Like
most of you miniature-loving, hobbiest out there I've struggled long
and hard with getting pictures that actually look like the miniature.
Light, colours etc is just such a hassle.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've
tried several set-ups, lamps etc but nothing has really done the job.
Thus when I saw a kickstarter for a photo studio set-up that looked
great and was not that expensive I jumped at the chance. The kickstarter
was for a set-up named Foldio - becuase it folds, get it? :-). It is
lit up by a strip of LED lights and was fairly cheap. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, it was delivered this morning and I've been tampering with it ever since. And to be honest I'm satisfied, but only just.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first thing I should show you is a comparison shot - this is Arkward, everyone's favourite minotaur. </div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoV9zvP68GCNl2najDcM3CDKacxQrvHuCPh_36HQO-Alon2hyZ8sjRjWZ9ScGzJQ78WBaO3wdpUdO0jmvQl3Vm-GNoz_9BP5PWAkmWVVflZ14au7Qu9K0XZYuJSJ68k7kcLLq1HLzAI8Vz/s1600/Before+and+after.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="Minotaur, Games, Workshop, Marauder, Miniatures, 1990, Aly, Trish, Morrison, Monster, MM42, Foldio, Comparison, review, verdict" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoV9zvP68GCNl2najDcM3CDKacxQrvHuCPh_36HQO-Alon2hyZ8sjRjWZ9ScGzJQ78WBaO3wdpUdO0jmvQl3Vm-GNoz_9BP5PWAkmWVVflZ14au7Qu9K0XZYuJSJ68k7kcLLq1HLzAI8Vz/s1600/Before+and+after.jpg" height="245" title="" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Arkward - before and after</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
On the left is a before shot -
overexposed and yellowish due to the lamps used. On the right is the
best I could tweak the Foldio to produce. If you expand the picture you
can see that the colours are much more like they are in the real world
(you can also see his nose has been chipped, Argh!!). Yet it is still a
bit too dark (even after I've photo-shopped it).<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All
in all I do think that while the picture on the left is better to get
ones attention due to the bright colours, the Foldio-shot is the best of
the two as it is much closer to reality and actually shows highlights,
blends etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
So this is the tweaked version. What does that mean? Well the Foldio looks like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXTxkLioAf78jr-6QqsTtMXsH-SEeP9bSnb8rGtO622W1XN2WPymI3MMLCTyNbOsRv8LBwK-AVqv57LCchMH149eWug-lJlo_VIP0lTdMhYJcSuW9WQifdX8UV5Agymw2borAFkRlxQm4U/s1600/11d99a6529c361e021f10ce508d53525_large.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Minotaur, Games, Workshop, Marauder, Miniatures, 1990, Aly, Trish, Morrison, Monster, MM42, Foldio, Comparison, review, verdict" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXTxkLioAf78jr-6QqsTtMXsH-SEeP9bSnb8rGtO622W1XN2WPymI3MMLCTyNbOsRv8LBwK-AVqv57LCchMH149eWug-lJlo_VIP0lTdMhYJcSuW9WQifdX8UV5Agymw2borAFkRlxQm4U/s1600/11d99a6529c361e021f10ce508d53525_large.jpg" height="200" title="" width="193" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_I_BavEDHdO-9g8snfWzFQAi5_m8FiHxe6kXsjA8uZ99VzlIt8As6ZkYDTWhOdlGiO2r52fjbFyblA45zIy8TrqXVgosloqzhxdBHcOLNnJo8elFdEbYnIIKpekzf-4AV8PcS7Fz_rCmg/s1600/a49c8922fa650849050081ff7a07e208_large.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Minotaur, Games, Workshop, Marauder, Miniatures, 1990, Aly, Trish, Morrison, Monster, MM42, Foldio, Comparison, review, verdict" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_I_BavEDHdO-9g8snfWzFQAi5_m8FiHxe6kXsjA8uZ99VzlIt8As6ZkYDTWhOdlGiO2r52fjbFyblA45zIy8TrqXVgosloqzhxdBHcOLNnJo8elFdEbYnIIKpekzf-4AV8PcS7Fz_rCmg/s1600/a49c8922fa650849050081ff7a07e208_large.jpg" height="133" title="" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
A
sheet of high-quality plastic thingy that folds into a photo-box, or
light box, and locks using magnets. The LED strip uses 9 volt battery
and thats about it. It feels like ok quality all the way.<br />
But I've
found that a single LED strip is simply not enough. It gives dark
pictures, even though it reflects well and there are no shadows.<br />
So I tweaked it to look like this:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxVK2e60FHK0_ZgjE5gY-JXL3ET8pdOgSIQhrHtkrjT5C0-q20EIVfpJKycd6Gns1jPNUhrBh9356zE4HYkziLWCNa-AEENuS31m-dq4GGf8Adh1A8Ndql-CeqdGTY5ra_Ormwt-lwxSAx/s1600/IMG_0534.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="Minotaur, Games, Workshop, Marauder, Miniatures, 1990, Aly, Trish, Morrison, Monster, MM42, Foldio, Comparison, review, verdict" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxVK2e60FHK0_ZgjE5gY-JXL3ET8pdOgSIQhrHtkrjT5C0-q20EIVfpJKycd6Gns1jPNUhrBh9356zE4HYkziLWCNa-AEENuS31m-dq4GGf8Adh1A8Ndql-CeqdGTY5ra_Ormwt-lwxSAx/s1600/IMG_0534.JPG" height="300" title="" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ignore the miniature - it is a secret!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I've raised up the bottom to get more
light from the top strip and have added a cheap strip from IKEA I had
available. Together these two strips are almost enough. I think if I
could find a better strip this setup would be hard to beat, I'll be
trawling the Chinese LED shops for some time now :-).<br />
<br />
So
my verdict on the Foldio? Well it didn't solve all my problems in one
delicious swoop, nor will it be the hasslefree experience I had hoped
for, instead it will be something that needs setting up and adjusting,
but not anymore than any other setup I've tried. The quality is good,
but the LED are insufficient. I'll give it a 7 out of 10 - I'll use it
for all photoes in the future, but I'll need to tweak it even further to
be satisfied. But for 20$ I'm pretty satisfied and think it will stop
me screaming at my camera and staring in disbelief at the pictures I
have available to upload :-).<br />
<br />
So, I guess this leaves just the new pictures of Arkward, the slightly confused Minotaur (<a href="http://warmasterdk.blogspot.dk/2014/03/arkward-slaaneshi-minotaur-mm42.html" target="_blank">read his history here</a>)
taken using the above setup - I would really appreciate your opinion as
to whether this is better or worse than the previous efforts (<a href="http://warmasterdk.blogspot.dk/2014/03/arkward-slaaneshi-minotaur-mm42.html" target="_blank">can be seen here</a>):<br />
